Who Jesus is

And what he did, and how to become friends with him

Jesus is God, but He took on human form and came to Earth, as a real human being, in order to save us. Save us from what?

Well, every human who has ever lived has done stuff wrong (sinned.) We haven't been perfect; we mess up a lot. But God, unlike humans, is perfect and holy. Our sin separates us from Him. He can't let sin go unpunished, and because of our sin, we all deserve punishment from God. God is infinite and eternal, and all of our sin is ultimately against God. This means that only an infinite and eternal punishment, eternal death, will work. So that eternal death is what people need to be saved from.

God created a way for us to be saved from eternal death: Jesus came to earth as a human, to save us by dying instead of us. He was God sacrificing himself for us. Jesus took the punishment that we deserve in order to save us from a horrible eternal death. And then after He died, He was resurrected (He came back to life again and rose up into heaven.) This demonstrated that His death paid the penalty for our sins, and God accepted His sacrifice.

Guess why Jesus died for you? Because He loves you so immensely and hugely and incomprehensibly and enormously and immeasurably much.

Jesus loves autistic people like you. And me.

John 15:13 says, "There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

It is easy to receive Jesus' sacrifice for you and become friends with Him. You just have to do this: Tell Him that you believe He’s God. Tell Him you believe He died for you to save you. Tell Him you are sorry for your sins, and ask Him to forgive you and help you change. Tell Him that you want to receive this gift of being saved, and that you want to become His follower. Tell Him that you really want to be baptized (if you haven't been baptized already.)

There, now you're His friend!
